BILIARY DUCT FUNCTIONAL DISORDER

Introduction
· There are several hepatic ducts that make left and right hepatic ducts. right and left ducts together make the common hepatic duct. CHD joins Cystic duct and they form common bile duct together. CBD originates in duodenum separately from pancreatic duct at minor papillae in cats.
· Biliary duct hyperplasia rate in cats is very low. The most common cause of biliary ducts dilation in cats is obstruction by sludges/lithes.
Objectives
· A 1/5 year old Persian cat presented with progressive jaundice and abdominal pain.
· 8 months later, after the  rst treatment and cholecystectomy, the patient presented with abdominal pain, good appetite, and progressive jaundice.
Methods
For the  rst time patient referred to radiology department to evaluate the liver, Gallbladder, and biliary ducts.
Severe extra hepatic dilation of biliary ducts in entrance region to duodenal papillae could be due to mechanical and/or functional obstruction.
Patient referred to surgeon. At the site of duodenum papillae and CBD opening, a hank-like mass of in amed hepatic ducts was seen. The passage of bile to duodenum got opened again.
Because of the high risk of destroying the opening, sampling/biopsy was not performed.
Results
The patient has been living so far, although the prognosis has been reported poor.
Conclusions
Cholecystectomy, enterotomy and reopening in addition to diet correction are very helpful.

Ultrasonography revealed in ammation of biliary tract toward duodenum and post hepatic jaundice due to the sludges in gallbladder which obstructed the ducts.
The cholecystectomy,entrotomy and reopening the obstructed parts was performed.
The second time ultrasonography and CT-Scan angiography were performed to reevaluate liver, duodenum and remained ducts.
